Within MRP, their may be a time where the demand generated on a part is not obvious as to where it has come from. For these instances it is possible to identify the source for the demand. You would do the following:
Follow the menu path: Production, Material Requirements
Choose the MRP to query the demand for, and click Raise Orders.
Choose between Works or Purchase Orders depending on which one needs querying.
In the quick bar, search for the part number which is believed to have an incorrect demand.
Press F5 on the part number in question. FactoryMaster will show a list of the orders that have generated the demand above. It will show a breakdown of the numbers below used in the calculation of the demand.
For when the demand is showing as 'Assembly Component', it can be zoomed into further by pressing F5 again.
As a rule, it is accepted that if MRP has found a demand for a certain item that the demand exists in FactoryMaster somewhere. However on occasion it may take zooming down multiple levels to ascertain exactly where the demand is being drawn from.
