Error - 'unable to connect to reporting services server'

Users may see an error when printing SSRS reports if the system cannot connect to the Reporting Services server. This article explains why this happens and how to resolve the issue.

⚠️Warning: All users will need to be out of FactoryMaster before doing the following. If you do not do this, then this could result in work being lost.

If your FactoryMaster is failing to print all reports, saying that it cannot connect to the reporting services, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log on to your server.

  2. Click the Start menu and search for Services.

  3. Scroll down until you find and select the SQL SERVER (<YOURFACTORYMASTERINSTANCENAME>).

  4. Click Stop this service.

  5. Click Start this service.

  6. Select the service called SQL REPORTING SERVICES (<YOURFACTORYMASTERINSTANCENAME>).

  7. Click Stop this service.

  8. Click Start this service.

If this does not work, Support will need to run some checks on the server. Therefore, please contact support, and please include details of the report you want to run.
