If you add an alternative to a Raw Material component then the form of the alternative does have to be the same as the form of the component. The system is working as designed.
A customer has submitted an idea into the FactoryMaster Ideas portal, to cater for alternative raw material (RM)/ components to a Bill Of Materials, to allow to add that RM that has different forms.
Please vote for this idea and our product team will assess it, to be implemented in future versions of FactoryMaster.
Add raw material to BOM and only allows same form
When I add an alternative raw material (RM)/components to a Bill Of Materials, it will only allow me to add the RM that has the same form. For instance, if the preferred RM is BB (Bar Billet) I cannot add BR (Round Bar) as an alternative only BB.
