If you are experiencing this error please do the following:
Open the Data Engine Connection Settings for the server required
Click Authentication
Enable the Trusted Certificate and save the record
Test connection, it should now test successfully
Data Engine: Error: 'An unknown error occurred whilst testing the connection. Could not open connection to the data database'
When trying to connect Data Engine to our on-premise server we are receiving the following error: An unknown error occurred whilst testing the connection. Could not open connection to the data database
