It is not possible to automatically default Sales Orders to the On Hold status when raising them. Sales Orders will need to be manually placed on hold by following these steps:
Go to the Sales tab.
Select Sales Order Menu.
Click on Sales Order Maintenance.
Select the desired Sales Order and click on Put On Hold.
Choose Yes.
