For this example we will be using the 'Create Resource Codes' import. Do the following:

  1. Go to General

  2. Click on Import Manager

  3. Note: If you are on version 11 of the software you will require to follow the path Options - System Maintenance - Data Manager - Import Manager

  4. Click the '+' sign next to Production then Resources.

  5. Highlight 'Create Resource Codes' and click Run Import

  6. The import/update window displays the Size column (max number of characters), Field Type Alpha (supports alphanumeric characters) and the field name

  7. Create a csv. file with all the fields you wish to import. Ensure that you have included all capitalised (mandatory) fields. For this import the mandatory fields are

    1. RESOURCE CODE

    2. RESOURCE DESCRIPTION

    3. RESOURCE GROUP

  8. F5 in the 'file to import' field and select the location on the PC you have saved your csv. file.

  9. Ensure you tick/untick the box to say if your csv. has a header row as necessary

  10. Click Next

  11. Match the relevant fields to the correct columns in your csv. Click Next

  12. Press Import

  13. Once it has imported, you will be able to view any records that have not imported and the reason why.

  7. If you wish to save to somewhere other than the default then F5 into the 'Import File' field and choose the location and file name, if you are happy with the default location move on to the next step.

  8. The 'Open Import File' field is ticked by default. If you do not wish the file to open then untick the box. Click OK

  9. The FactoryMaster standard 'Select Ranges' window will open. Here, you can filter the report to only show items that meet any predetermined parameters. Click Import when you are finished

  10. You now have the option to only show certain columns of data within your report. Move the fields over from the left hand window to the right hand window using the Select Field or Select All buttons as you desire

  11. Click OK
