Environment: FactoryMaster, RDP, RDS server
There is a chargeable option of upgrading to Outlook Terminal Licences. Please discuss this with your IT manager. A workaround is installing FactoryMaster (FM) on all laptops locally. This is fine when in the office but when working from home, the wifi network is weaker and FM becomes unstable. Another workaround is ending outlook.exe from Task Manager (by pressing Ctrl + Alt + End).
The development team have looked into this issue and it won't be resolved with additional code changes. It looks like the issue is related to how the two programs are launched and if they have the same rights / user access. For example, if you launch FM in admin mode, but then Outlook in normal (non-admin) you'll have the issue. The opposite is also true, if you run Outlook in Admin but FM not in admin, you'll get the same problem. You need to run both applications in the same session (i.e. the same user or admin) and it then works. One solution is closing down all of the Outlook sessions via task manager. Then launch FM and run the email check and it should be successful. You will see a new Outlook entry in this list of processes. If you launch Outlook afterwards it will essentially takes over the session, and if it's open in Admin mode, the issue will arise again.
