We have limited knowledge of the scanning module. We can assist if the installation is not fully completed or the data is not scanning correctly.

We have some details on how to use the scanning menu from the hand held device:-

Log into scan window with admin login credentials and the following menu options will display:

  1. Sales Order Menu

  2. Purchase Menu

  3. Stock Menu (when selected, branches to part enquiry)

  4. Production Menu (when selected, branches to works order kitting)

  5. Messages

  6. Tasks

  • Stock Menu, Stock Movements, barcode field

Shows in FM application within stock maintenance, stock by batch tab, transaction type: [TB] movement

  • Stock Menu, Stock Take, enter stock take ref, location, barcode, qty

from FM application can create new stocktake snapshot with Use FM Barcode Scanners ticked.
Press F4 after selecting stocktake and select Perpetual Inventory
Press F5 to zoom into stocktake created and can click Recalculate Snapshot Qty.

  • Stock menu, batch enquiry

Server Requirements

The handheld scanners use IIS, in conjunction with the FactoryMaster transaction broker. The following elements are required on your server:

  • Internet Information Services V7 or above

  • A FactoryMaster transaction broker

Your consultant will set up the FactoryMaster transaction broker. Please note that this uses 1 FactoryMaster license.

Supported Hardware

The handheld scanning software has been validated on a number of Android devices, including the following:

  • Zebra MC3300

  • Honeywell Dolphin 75e

  • Honeywell Dolphin 70e

Other Android devices can be used, but due to the differences in configurations, it is recommended that any device not on the above list be tested on-site prior to purchase. It is also best practice to select a device intended for barcode scanning in a workshop environment, and ruggedized to some degree to reduce risk of damage.
When considering the purchase of other Android devices, the following minimum conditions apply:

  • 2D/QR code scanning capability

  • Minimum 2GHz quad-core processor

  • Minimum 2Gb RAM

  • The chosen device must be running Android 4.4.4 or above

  • A Google account is required to use some Android features
