Replace component or part within multiple assemblies/BOM

Is it possible to replace a part code used on several BOMs with a different code? How can I replace a component with another component, against multiple assemblies?

You can copy existing parts and replace with new parts by completing the following steps:

  1. Select stock.

  2. Select Stocked Parts Menu

  3. Select Stocked Parts

  4. Select part you want to copy and press F6 to generate the stock summary window.

  5. Press Crlt + M to modify and click Copy/Replace

  6. The Source Part Number is the part that will be copied

  7. Action Required field contains options: copy/replace source part or remove source part.

  8. Target Part Number is the new part number. Create as New: Stocked part or Phantom part

  9. Copy from Source To Target section contains The options here are to say what is going to be copied across. If the information is not relevant for that Source Part then it will be greyed out. In this case, the source part has no Drawing Required so that is greyed out. General Part Details is greyed out because that will have to be copied across.


​NOTE: This is the option to allow the copying of parts. It is advisable to try this on the Play system first in order to become familiar with the process.
