Overview

When you are trying to export a report, you may come across an error message similar to the one below:

Directory access test has failed.

Please check that the directory is correct and you have the correct access rights.

This happens when Windows has not given FactoryMaster permission to print in that location. Either change the location you want to save the export, or contact your IT department to have them fix the permissions.

What can I do to resolve the error message and prevent it from happening again?

If the folder path does not exist in your system, please run ClientSetup to create the folder path. If you do not know how to run ClientSetup, please click here.

If you are working from home remotely and using Remote Desktop Protocol to use FactoryMaster from your server, the filepath of the export needs to be amended to a network share that the user can access:

  1. Log in to FactoryMaster as an admin or a user account with full permissions.

  2. Right-click the relevant report option.

  3. Select the Edit Menu Option.

  4. In the Folder: field (under field Export Type:), press F5.

  5. Select the relevant network drive and sub-directories.

  6. Click OK.

User can now log into FactoryMaster with their login credentials and export and open the CSV file successfully
