Setting up Packaging as a Stocked Part

How do I set up packaging as a stocked part within FactoryMaster?

To begin with, you need to switch on the packaging control flag - DESPATCH_PACKAGING_SCREEN.

I would recommend turning the control flags on in play before you do this in your live system just to ensure you're able to do this with no issues.

Once you have done this you will be able to set up a stocked part as a packaging item, to do this you will need to:

  1. Open the Stocked Part Menu in the Stock Tab

  2. Click Stock Part Maintenance

  3. Open the warehouse tab

  4. Tick the relevant box

  5. Once the relevant box is ticked click on packaging details

Once you have opened the packaging details you will be given the option to say how the packaging will be dealt with, these are
A. Free Issue - the customer is not charged
B. Loan - Cust is charged but also credited when the packaging is returned
C. Chargeable - The customer is charged

6. Once you have set up your packaging the next step you need to follow is to find the stocked part that will require the packaging and select the packaging details
7. Press F5 in the packaging part number to select the relevant part

You will now have set up packaging as a stocked part, from here you will be able to make amends to the part so that you can add these to invoices with the details of your packaging.
