Kitting a works order

We would like to know how to Kit a Works Order, how can we do this?

A Kit is a set of specific components that are assigned/earmarked to a Works Order. The stock will be unavailable to other WOs but will not actually be issued until the kit has been confirmed.
If there are many components on a WO then it is a quicker process to confirm the kit than to issue the stock. The main caveat to this is that just creating the kit will take the next available batch. It is possible to change the batch but it is not possible to choose the batch during the initial stages.

Creating the Kit

  1. Find and open the required WO.

  2. In the Components section, in the bottom left, click Kitting and a message will appear.

  3. Click Yes to this message. The system will attempt to kit the WO.

  4. If it has worked, a message saying "Stock has been allocated to satisfy ALL..." will be displayed.

  5. If there isnโ€™t enough stock, a message saying "Stock has been allocated to satisfy SOME..." will be displayed.

  6. When there is a kit on the WO, click Kitting again and the Works Order Kitting Menu is shown.

Viewing the kit

Click View Kit for Works Order. A new window is displayed, where it will show all the Kits currently used for the order.

Amend the kit

This allows the kit to be changed, for example, using this will allow the batches for the stocked part to be specified.

Removing a Kit

When there is a kit on the WO, it will be shown in green.

  1. To remove the kit, click Remove Kit.

  2. This will give a warning regarding removing the stock, click Yes.

  3. The confirmation will show when complete.

Confirming the Kit

  1. To confirm the kit choose the Confirm the Kit option.

  2. When the kit has confirmed, the message saying "This procedure will ISSUE..." is displayed.

  3. Click Yes to confirm the kit, the stock will then be issued to the WO.

  4. Once the Kit has been confirmed the components will be shown as issued.

Messages

The following messages show the status of the kit on a WO, it will show either:

  • Fully Kitted (green background).

  • Partially Kitted (green text).

ONLY once the kit has been confirmed will the stock be issued to the WO. Just kitting it only earmarks/reserves the stock. When this is done it will show either:

  • Fully Issued (red background).

  • Partially Issued (red text).
