A common cause for this is if a user has 'Ctrl+Alt+Del' out of the system and it hasn't quit the user's session properly. If you are aware of which PC the user did this on then there are some preliminary steps you can take to clear the lock. If you are not aware of this information then please skip down to the next section.
On the PC which has caused the issue, open Task Manager by using Ctrl+Alt+Delete
Have a look in the 'Processes' tab for Clientloader.exe and Magicxparuntime.exe
If either are there, highlight each of them and press End Task
If the above does not work, the following can be used if the system is not allowing the number of users equal to the number of licences to log in to the system.
Try the following steps to clear locked user logins:
In both the Live and Play systems open who is on the system (press CTRL+W on the keyboard). Note: the user does NOT need to be logged in to run this, it can be done from the login screen.
Check to see if the user is still showing as logged in, if they are not the lock should be cleared.
If they are still showing as logged in, look at the terminal description and try to identify which machine is logged in, check that machine and try to log back in on that machine as the locked user. Note: It MUST be the locked user on the machine the lock was created on. This will usually clear any locks.
Check that the user is not logged into an RDP (terminal services) session onto any servers.
If the above methods have failed to release the locked user:
Get everyone out of FactoryMaster and browse to the FMAST10\Customer folder on the server.
Delete the LivefmResLock.lck and the LivefmLock.lck (replace Live for Play if necessary) files.
If the files delete ok then the user should be able to log back in.
If the files won’t delete, someone is still locking them.
If sure that nobody is using it, use computer management on the server to close all open files in the FMAST10 directory.
This can be done by going to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - System Tools - Shared folders - Open files.
If there are open files which keep reappearing after being deleted, then the files will be associated with a user. That user will be on a computer that can be identified using the ’Sessions’ option.
Find the computer that the user is on under the ’Sessions’ option and get that computer switched off.
If that still doesn’t work, check ’Task Manager’ on the server for MgxpaRuntime (unite for V10) and/or clientloader. These will need to be stopped if they are running.
